Paleolithic Arts and Crafts- Style and Purpose

‚ÄčPaleolithic art seems to be have discoverd from times dating back to 2,000,000 B.C.E first using stone tools until the end of the last ice age (13000 B.C.E). Paleolithic art falls under two categories: portable and cave paintings. Paleolithic people used the walls of the cave to add affects to the art. They built scaffoldings to reach up high and used charcoal, clay, minerals, and ochre to make their paintings. one of the most important and famous pieces of art is the Venus Willdendorf, a statue of a woman which represents fertility. another is the cave paintings at Lascaux.
